please call WORG at 803 516-8400.

Please leave very detailed information, including

the name of your organization, your name, position/title,

telephone number where your turn can be returned,

and details about your closing or cancellation.

National Weather Service Winter Warning and Watch definitions........

Winter Storm Watch... an announcement for specific areas that winter
weather may develop during the next 24 to 48 hours
and produce significant accumulations of freezing
rain... sleet or snow.

Winter Storm Warning... an announcement for:
1. Average snow accumulations of at least 2 inches
in 12 hours or 3 inches in 24 hours.
2. Or 1/4 inch of freezing rain within 24 hours.

Blizzard Warning... issued when there is considerable falling or
blowing snow reducing visibilities to 1/4 mile or
less and the winds are sustained or gusting to at
least 35 mph. These conditions are expected to occur
for at least 3 hours.

Winter Weather Advisory... an announcement for average accumulations
of less than an inch of snow... or less than a 1/4
inch of freezing rain. These conditions are
expected to develop in the area in 24 hours or less.

Note: specific headers may be used if there is a very high degree
of certainty of the event, ie. "Heavy snow warning", "ice storm
warning", etc.
